Google is packing even more useful information into the latest version of its Maps app for iOS. Google Maps 4.3.0 for iPhone and iPad adds several contextual data points to locations like nearby businesses for address searches, quick facts for notable locations, and even event information for select venues. As you can see with the Empire State Building search, Google Maps will include information from sources like Wikipedia prominently within search results for popular locations....

Sony has a number of studios that are working hard behind closed doors on a range of titles, some we know about, others have yet to be officially unveiled to the rest of the world. One of those studios is Sony Santa Monica. The studio created the God of War series and is known to be have been working on a fourth numbered installment since 2014. Two years ago, creative director Cory Barlog confirmed the team was in early stages and heavily hinted that the game would more likely be a reboot as opposed to a sequel....

From the looks of it, Google will not let Android face iOS this year, with only the Samsung Galaxy S3 and it’s looking to introduce its own flagship, just in time for the holiday season. As you’d probably know, the LG Nexus 4 will introduce a brand new OS, Android 4.2 and will pack some impressive gear under the hood. While Apple Maps got off to a rocky start, with many of us opting to use Google Maps instead, it did manage to gradually win back our confidence – with three times as many users as its Google rival by the end of last year. But Google is working hard to tempt back iOS users with an improved user-interface and a new way to highlight where the action is when visiting a new city....

Despite the massive popularity of the original anime, the live-action adaptation of Ghost In the Shell became one of the big flops of 2017 on its release last month. The film stands to lose more than $60 million, and the studio has admitted that the casting controversy affected the film’s take at the box office. A twist in Godzilla: King of the Monsters revealed that King Ghidorah is actually an alien, but this isn’t a surprising revelation for Godzilla fans, considering that Ghidorah was also an alien in the classic Toho films. The MonsterVerse made certain adjustments to King Ghidorah for King of the Monsters, but his origin story wasn’t one of them. Godzilla’s biggest enemies in the original Toho movies are King Ghidorah, Mechagodzilla, and Gigan, but only King Ghidorah has earned the right to be called Godzilla’s archrival....

Google announced today that an update rolling out to its Google Drive iOS app will allow users to upload files from other apps as well as access custom made maps through Google’s My Maps feature. The ability to upload files from other apps into Drive is limited to iOS 8 users, and the Google My Maps integration is limited to viewing and sharing the custom maps currently. New footage from Godzilla: King of the Monsters shown at CinemaCon features more Titan battles. Warner Bros. has been building the MonsterVerse since 2014 after the release of Godzilla, and now it’s almost time for a true sequel to arrive. The new entry in the franchise is directed by Michael Dougherty, and has been the recipient of some great marketing so far. The studio launched the first trailer to a great response at San Diego Comic-Con last summer, and the good will has only continued since then....

At Saturday’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, Godzilla: King of the Monsters director Michael Dougherty teased the possibility that the movie could include more monsters beyond the ones already confirmed. George R.R. Martin’s Nightflyers TV series has reportedly lost showrunner Daniel Cerone, and will replace him with executive producer Jeff Buhler. Syfy and Universal Cable productions are producing the show which is said to have a “substantial budget.” Syfy ordered a pilot last June, then in September ordered the show to series. Restarting a long-dormant but beloved franchise is undoubtedly a daunting task.
