Paseman also voiced a sentiment likely to have gone down well at Apple. Godzilla: King of the Monsters introduces even more kaiju to Warner Bros. and Legendary’s MonsterVerse. The new Godzilla 2 trailer, which debuted at San Diego Comic-Con, offers the first good look at these newcomers, but in the case of Mothra, the trailer also confirms that she will appear in both her larva and winged forms. Mothra is different from the other kaiju - or Titans, as they’ll be referred to in the Godzilla sequel - because she more than any other acts as a protector of humanity rather than a destroyer....

One of the most exciting leaks from the upcoming Godzilla vs. Kong is the presence of Mechagodzilla. Since his initial appearance in 1974, Mechagodzilla has become one of the most popular and iconic Godzilla enemies. If Mechagodzilla does in fact appear in Godzilla vs Kong, then he will have appeared in all the series of Godzilla movies, in a total of 8 movies. Based on the information we’ve seen, Mechagodzilla will likely be a weapon that Monarch uses, possibly to fight Godzilla and the other Titans....

Yesterday Google updated Cloud Connect to include a new menu that will open Google Docs files directly from Microsoft Office. This means you don’t have to haphazardly download and scavenger hunt for the correct file to work on. Now, all of your stored Google Docs files are accessible from the Cloud Connect toolbar itself. Nice. The “Open from Google Docs” menu will automatically list all of your documents stored in Google Docs, and Google even cleverly included a search box to help you find documents should your list prove too long....

Google applications on iOS have long been criticized for not feeling native to the platform. Earlier this year, the company’s designers reviewed their approach for developing iOS apps and opted for a change. Google apps on iOS have long looked and functioned near identically to their Android counterparts. That in itself is fine and the company’s prerogative, but Apple enthusiasts have complained about Google applications not respecting common iOS conventions and “feel,” thus resulting in an inconsistent user experience between first and third-party clients....

Craiggers is a free full-feature Craigslist browsing web app that can turn the nightmarish mess of Craigslist posting into something even a tablet user could manage. Their motto is “craigslist data better than craigslist!” and they aren’t bluffing. The website uses a 3-column approach. The left-side displays location, search filters, relevant matches, and matches from neighboring areas. The middle column contains the search results, and the right column contains the craigslist post after you click on an ad....

GoAffPro is a company that makes affiliate marketing software. The End. Seriously, that’s it. There’s literally no other information about the company behind the software. There’s no listing on Crunchbase, no press releases, nothing on LinkedIn. Whoever is behind the software has left on the barest trail of his or her existence: the founder is /my_username_is_2 on Reddit. Normally, this sort of mysterious background would be enough for us to just move on....

Godzilla: King of the Monsters sets up multiple Toho kaiju in the MonsterVerse. The movie opens the door for three classic Godzilla villains and one ally to join the MonsterVerse either in Godzilla vs. Kong or a future installment in the franchise. At least one of these Toho properties, Mechagodzilla, has already been spoiled by a toy leak that pointed to his inclusion. Godzilla: King of the Monsters reveals that numerous Titans dwell all over the planet and are spread out across all seven continents....

Abaddon is one of the Titans confirmed to exist in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, but like several other Titans, he never appeared onscreen. Who is this creature, and what does the significance of his name say about him? It was mentioned early in Godzilla: King of the Monsters that at least 17 Titans are known to Monarch. After Emma (Vera Farmiga) and Jonah (Charles Dance) wake up King Ghidorah with the Orca, the three-headed alien monster lets out a call that wakes up all the other Titans from hibernation....

But over the years everything changed. Windows (with and without an X) made it all a matter of pointing and clicking and pointing and clicking and pointing and clicking. One thing that does differentiate Nexus Player from the Fire TV is you can play the games on your HDTV at home using the controller, and then keep playing the game where you left off on the go on your smartphone or tablet. Looking back at late May Google released a beta version of Chrome Apps for Mac, which should not be confused with Chrome OS or Chrome’s browser apps. These ‘Chrome Apps’ are full-fledged applications complete with offline support and include apps like Any.do, Pocket, and many more available in the “For your desktop” collection in the Chrome Web Store. Google initally released the desktop app launcher as part of a Chromium release back in May....

Netflix’s Stephen King adaptation Gerald’s Game is a film deserving of its acclaim, but suffers due to an ending that feels tacked on and contrived. As one of the most read authors in history, Stephen King has seen dozens and dozens of his stories be adapted for the screen, sometimes as movies and sometimes for TV. In Gerald’s Game’s case, the 1992 book became a movie made for TV, in this case a Netflix original premiering in September 2017....

Since Apple presented the new CSAM scan feature to protect children, the announcement has generated a lot of concerns and controversies about users’ privacy. Now, the Digital Agenda committee chief of the German parliament wants Apple to reconsider its CSAM plans in a letter to Tim Cook. As reported by Heise Online, Manuel Hoferlin, the Digital Agenda committee chairman, thinks Apple is going on a “dangerous path” while undermining “safe and confidential communication....

Once installed, you can start using the new Ribbon UI. It works much the same as the Ribbon in Office and other software that has it. The first thing I always do with any Ribbon menu is move the Quick Access Toolbar below the Ribbon....

The #OscarsSoWhite controversy drew attention to the limited numbers of roles for actors of color. And the Hollywood practice of ‘whitewashing’ is starting to be called out....

The current buzz surrounding Gilmore Girls is whether the revival will get a second season or not. In 2016, fans of the series were treated to 4 episodes that sought to answer a few questions that it’s premature end in 2007 left unanswered. The miniseries on Netflix was well received by fans, who had petitioned for a comeback, maybe a reunion movie. Majority of the original cast reunited in the reunion, allowing showrunner Amy Sherman-Palladino to finally end the series on her own terms....
