However, it seems another icon redesign is on the way with Google teasing some potential icons for Chrome to better match the design language of macOS Big Sur. Google Chrome version 87 launched today on Windows and macOS, bringing a host of new features, but the most immediately noticeable change was a new icon for macOS, partially themed to the style of Big Sur....

In recent days, the Meet merger widely rolled out to Google Duo for Android and iOS. Google is now readying to start the next phase where the Meet icon and name replaces Duo’s following a mobile app update. Update 8/22: Like on Android, the iOS app earlier this month received the new Meet homescreen and splash screen. However, the blue app icon and name (“Google Duo”) remained unchanged until today. Version 173....

A court in Australia ordered Google to pay a former politician A$715,000 on Monday after finding that the tech giant’s refusal to take down a YouTuber’s “unlawful” and “offensive” material forced him from politics. The videos in question have more than 800,000 views since being uploaded in 2020 and are said to have influenced the politician’s decision to retire from politics. The decision reinstates the issue of how much responsibility tech firms have for defamation conveyed by users on their websites....

Popular game distribution platform Good Old Games (commonly referred to as GOG and created by the same team behind Cyberpunk 2077) has announced a major update to its refund policy and philosophy: Now all players can refund a product up to 30 days after purchasing. Players will be able to automatically get a refund even if they have already installed and played the game. This is a significant change to the previous GOG rules, which prevented buyers from returning a game on the platform if they had downloaded it or launched it even once....
