Ways and the steps for obtaining the refund.

Way 1: Call your bank.

When you know you made an improper payment, you may call your bank within a few seconds. Ask them to cancel your payment. The refund is possible only if payment is in process in the bank.  If you fail this way, you can always go to the other possible ones.

Way 2: Contact Google pay.

Open your gpay account. Go to your profile. Click “help and feedback. ”Click “get help. ”Go to contact us. You may type the issue you are facing in the text box—for example, wrong account money transfer. Click on “next step. ”Two options will be available. One is chatting, and the other is email. The chat option is more feasible than the email one. Send your message and ask for a refund.

Way 3: Raise dispute.

See all payment activities. Go to the wrongly paid transaction. Click on “Raise dispute. ”

Way 4: Contact the opposite person’s bank.

This way is not a guaranteed one because banks don’t reveal their personal information to anyone, and if they do, it must be a considerable amount. So, contact the opposite person’s bank, tell them your problem, and ask for their number. If they give a number which is a 0. 01% probability, you may ask that person to repay your amount.

Precautions to be taken to avoid transferring the money to the wrong account or in case of fraud:

First and essential of all, do not share your UPI pin with anyone. Because it is directly linked to the bank account, it’s risky. As you keep your ATM pin private, keep this too confidential. Do not share the OTP with anyone or any untrusted application.  While receiving, you need not enter UPI. And if someone asks for your UPI pin when they give you the amount, please do not share it with them as it may lead to fraud.  Also, banks do not ask for any pin. So, if you receive a call convincing you that they are from a bank and need your pin, do not trust them. Do not enter OTP on any website or link online.

What to do in case of fraud?

Read the above given precautions carefully. And also, before using any online payment systems, read the instructions carefully. And then too, if you are caught in fraud, immediately contact your bank and report this unauthorised activity to them.

How much time does Google Pay to refund the amount?

Once you cancel your payment using the above ways, your transaction will be considered a failure. Then after three to five days, you will be credited with your lost amount. 

Sometimes, a delay may occur. In that case, you will need to wait or contact them again for confirmation, or you may check your refund status after signing into your Google pay account.

What do you need to know when expecting a Google pay refund?

Google pay is only an intermediate and a facilitator. It is not responsible for any conflict between two parties and is not a party itself. And many other points which you need to go through carefully while you press the agree button, especially in case of refunds.
