Well, it’s not about getting lost, as Google Maps has added a new feature that gives you live traffic updates so, in case there is a traffic jam you can change your route or go a bit early to reach in time.

And, for this, you just need to save or backup your usual routes and when you enter that particular location, Google Maps instantly lets you know the outcome of the traffic status. In case, of a traffic jam, the app also lets you know of alternatives so you can reach your place.

Mix your Commute

Most of us have to use more than one way to go to our office. First, you go to the train station and take the 9 am train and then you go walking the rest of the way to your office. Now, what if a road construction is going on way to your office, obviously it’s going to get you delayed. Gotten a little worried, no problem, as Google Maps easily gives commute information for not just traffic but, your walking distance as well. Right, from your train arrival time to possible route issues with suggested shortcuts.

Real-time Information

The biggest issue that one faces while traveling via trains or public transition is the time. A slight delay can ruin your entire day, especially if you have an important meeting to attend.

Now, Google Maps will offer you live transit details of 80 cites from across the globe. Some of them include Chicago; San Francisco; Los Angeles; Orange County; Sanford; Florida; Sao Paulo; Amsterdam; The Hague; Rotterdam; and Jakarta to name just a few.

The new update will even let you know if the train or bus is going to be crowded or not so you can get ready beforehand in case you might have to stand the entire way.

Yes, Google Maps may not be a magical carpet that can soar up in the sky and take you to your destination, it definitely can let you know what you are going to expect on the way.
