Good Behavior season 1 episode 3 saw Letty reluctantly heading on a road trip with hitman Javier and a couple of bodies. Good Behavior is a TNT series about a freshly released criminal named Letty (Michelle Dockery, Downton Abbey). While she wants to regain custody of her son and lead a good life, her naturally self-destructive impulses find her quickly reverting to bad habits. This places her into the path of Javier in the first episode, a hitman who she overhears planning a murder.

She tries to stop him and Good Behavior finds them embarking on a rather twisted love affair. The show attracted good reviews but was canceled following season 2, which ended on a cliffhanger where Letty killed criminal Teo - and also accidentally killed an innocent man. A third season would have moved the action to L.A., but while TNT (Will) has suggested some kind of one-off finale to properly wrap up the story could happen, there’s been little sign of movement since the show ended in 2018.

Good Behavior season 1 episode 3 “From Terrible Me” was one of the key episodes of the series. The previous episode “Only The Best For Mrs. Diaz” found Javier forcing Letty to be his accomplice during a hit, which predictably ended badly. “From Terrible Me” follows on from the aftermath, with the duo driving a stolen Tesla with two dead bodies in the trunk. This episode zeroes in on the complicated attraction between Letty and Javier; she wants to get away from him, but he’s also one of the few people she can be genuinely honest with. For a brutal killer, “From Terrible Me” also hints at Javier’s more caring and tender side.

Good Behavior season 1 episode 3 sees Javier helping keep Letty sober and that she eats during their car ride from hell. A subplot also sees Letty’s kindly parole officer Christian (Terry Kinney, Oz) calling around to find her after she disappears with Javier. Despite spending most of “From Terrible Me” trying to get away from Javier, he and Letty end up in a diner together, which cements that their odd romance is only going to grow stronger.

Good Behavior season 1 episode 3 “From Terrible Me” was essentially a bottle episode, like the “Fly” episode of Breaking Bad. It narrowed its focus to the Letty/Javier dynamic, and how they can’t seem to get away from one another. While early episodes set up Letty’s no-killing rule for herself, that was obviously a line she would eventually have to cross.
