Here’s everything we know about Netflix’s GLOW season 3. The 1980s-set wrestling comedy based on the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, a real-life professional circuit, is set to return later this summer.

GLOW might center on women performing fictionalized stunts in the wrestling ring, but there’s much more to the series than the wild gimmicks. Since its debut in 2017, GLOW has struck a chord with viewers as it touches on more than just comedy. There are family issues, relationship struggles, and workplace disagreements. Each character tries to stay true to themselves while portraying a completely different persona in the ring. This leads to a multitude of identity crises but also brings important life lessons.

What does that mean for GLOW season 3? Zoya the Destroya and Liberty Belle might have been enemies during their matches but Ruth Wilder (Alison Brie) and Debbie Eagan (Betty Gilpin) are finally warming up to the ideas that they could be friends again. Season 2 was a roller coaster of emotions for the GLOW gals but things are finally looking up. Sam (Marc Maron), Bash (Chris Lowell), Ruth, and Debbie do all they can to save their show but it’s ultimately dropped from the network. Thanks to strip-club owner Ray (Horatio Sanz), they find another chance at wrestling stardom in Las Vegas. Here’s everything fans need to know about GLOW season 3.

GLOW Season 3 Release Date

GLOW season 3 premieres Friday, August 9 on Netflix. Previous seasons of GLOW released during the month of June, but there’s no word why Netflix decided to hold the season a couple of months. It seems likely that an extended production due to GLOW season 3’s focus on the wrestlers’ new show in Vegas is the cause. Even if the show itself wasn’t filmed in Sin City, extra time would surely be needed for the new, elaborate sets. GLOW season 3 will consist of 10 episodes, each in the half-hour to 45-minute range.

GLOW Season 3 Story Details

GLOW season 3 will follow a new chapter in the lives of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling as they take their show to Las Vegas. They are now headliners at the Fan-Tan Hotel & Casino as they get the opportunity to take their careers to a new level. Of course, they’re in Vegas, so the ladies will get caught up in the glitz and glam of the city they now call home.

As for leaving Los Angeles, some of the women seem to be having trouble being away from their families. In order to continue her career in show business, Debbie had to leave her son behind, at least for the time being. Some of the others also seem to be having a hard time adjusting to their new life. Ruth is at a crossroads considering she has a job and a boyfriend but she still doesn’t feel happy. She and Debbie will continue to slowly repair their friendship but it might be Sam who Ruth seeks answers from. And will Ruth’s friendship with Sam turn into something more?

GLOW season 3 will see the return of all the wrestlers featured in the previous season but there will be a new face in the cast. Actress Geena Davis will join the series as Sandy Devereaux St. Clair, the hotel’s entertainment director. Debbie will most likely flock to the successful businesswoman as a way to get ahead in her own career. But there’s surely more to Sandy’s ritzy character than meets the eye.
