Netflix has renewed GLOW for a fourth and final season. The wrestling drama/comedy has become one of Netflix’s best shows over the course of the last three seasons. Starring Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin, Marc Maron and many more, the Emmy-winning series has become a fan-favorite on the streaming service. After a successful third season arrived this summer though, many wondered what the future would hold.

There was certainly room for GLOW season 4. Season 3 ended with Gilpin’s Debbie Eagan successfully pulling off a deal for Bash Howard (Chris Lowell) to acquire a TV network, which will serve as the new home for GLOW’s content after their time in Las Vegas came to an end. Despite Debbie’s enthusiasm, though, Brie’s Ruth Wilder rejected an offer to return to the series and direct it too. Thankfully, this somber note will not be the last we get to see of their stories.

Netflix officially announced today that GLOW has been renewed for a fourth season, which will once again consist of 10 episodes. No details on the story or when it will be released were revealed. However, the announcement also confirmed that the fourth season will be the last for GLOW. The social media accounts for Netflix and GLOW shared a quick video highlighting what the series has done so far, letting fans know that they’ll get to “feel the glow one last time.”

While return of GLOW for a fourth season is exciting news, many may also be disappointed to also learn that the next season will be the final one. That said, as much as viewers may want to spend more time with GLOW, the combination of the renewal and ending announcement should be taken good news. With everyone now aware that season 4 will be the end, showrunners Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch will be able to craft a satisfying ending to the series.

Now that GLOW season 4 is announced, fans may not even have to wait a year to see the final chapter. Netflix has traditionally released new seasons of the series in the summer, with the first two seasons premiering in June and season 3 releasing in August. Thanks to the timing of this confirmation, GLOW’s final season could very well debut in 2020. If that is the case, then it won’t be too long before the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling return to the screen one last time. And, with GLOW comic books based on the series on the way, more stories from this world could still come later.
