Much has changed since the original Ghostbusters hit the big screen in 1984. The movie entered the public consciousness thanks in part to the catch phrase/song lyric “Who you gonna call?” but today those who find themselves haunted by a ghost or harassed by a poltergeist are much more likely to seek a solution via the web or social media than through something as old-fashioned as a phone call.

Until recently, those looking for a web presence for Paul Feig’s upcoming Ghostbusters reboot had to resort to unofficial fan sites to get their fix. Now, however, that is no longer the case.

The official Ghostbusters website is now live, and offers not only a single location for viewing all of the movie’s social media marketing efforts (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram included), but also a look at the cast and crew as well as a storefront from which to buy Blu-rays of the original films, toys, and other articles of anti-ghost paraphernalia. The site also includes a series of quotes from the original cast members – Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson – hyping up the new film and giving it their stamp of approval. Even director and producer Ivan Reitman chimed in, saying:

“I believe the movie is going to be quite wonderful, because I know the cast works. The ladies in this new film are in every way as talented as that original group of actors were.”

While the website does not yet have any images from the movie we haven’t seen before, fans looking for a closer look at what’s in store do not have long to wait. In a tweet announcing the arrival of the official website, Feig also made mention of when the first trailer for the movie would drop:

The official Ghostbusters site is up and running at https://t.co/ibTzv05prD. First full trailer coming around the end of this month. #ghosts— Paul Feig (@paulfeig) February 3, 2016

The “end of this month” timeframe puts the kibosh on earlier rumors that the trailer would premiere during the Super Bowl. However, more content may be hitting the website before that trailer premieres. A press release announcing the website urged fans to “Check back for new exclusive content and more!” It also provided the following synopsis of the movie:

The hype machine for Ghostbusters is definitely starting to kick into gear, and it won’t be long before it’s going at full speed. With a release date smack in the middle of summer blockbuster season, Sony is no doubt hoping that the threat of paranormal goings-on and, more frighteningly for a vocal minority of filmgoers, an all-female ghostbusting team won’t scare audiences away from making it one of the biggest hits of the year.

“Thirty years after the original film took the world by storm, Ghostbusters is back and fully rebooted for a new generation. Director Paul Feig combines all the paranormal fighting elements that made the original franchise so beloved with a cast of new characters, played by the funniest actors working today. Get ready to watch them save the world this summer!”

Ghostbusters will be released in U.S. theaters on July 15th, 2016.
