It took a long, long time for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier to release after multiple delays and when it finally did in 2012 it felt a tad too late to its own party. Its successor however, first unveiled by Ubisoft last year at E3 2015, seems right on track and perfectly timed with the types of shooters dominating the market.

Embracing a complete open-world for the first time in the franchise, the biggest open world to ever be used in an Ubisoft action-adventure game, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands fills its Bolivian setting with dynamic environments end events, and a variety of of objectives, missions, and terrain types. Most importantly, and something the series hasn’t quite been able to do until now, Wildlands brings with it a meaningful story and hopefully memorable characters.

That comes through in the new Ghost Recon Wildlands “We Are Ghosts” gameplay trailer which can best be described as an awesome-sauce sizzle reel of action and four-player mayhem. Yes, like the previous games before it, Wildlands is specifically designed with 4-player co-op play in mind, an essential part of the Ghost Recon DNA but this time, gameplay moves fully into third-person. There are also vehicle, choices, and far more customization to be had as players aim to bring their own kind of war to the front steps of the Santa Blanca drug cartel in a modern-day setting (the last few games were set in the near future).

Bolivia is the setting of the latest Ghost Recon series entry, and while an open-world style of mission design is something the early games of Ghost Recon series always embraced Wildlands is set in one giant complete open environment where players are free to do as they chose. From the trailer teases and information drops from Ubisoft so far players can expect key mechanics from the like of Far Cry (attack from anywhere style complete open-world, vehicles, stealth) and The Division (progression, loot, and gear customization).
