Of course, most people tuned in to the Netflix revival to discover what had become of Rory, Lorelai, and Emily, there were plenty of other treats to keep viewers engaged over the course of Year in the Life’s four ninety minute episodes. For those keen-eyed viewers, though, there were also plenty of cameos in A Year in the Life that made it even more interesting for fans....

Black Panther’s Danai Gurira is looking to join Godzilla vs Kong. The film marks the fourth installment of Warner Bros/Legendary’s MonsterVerse. This cinematic universe includes 2014’s Godzilla, 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, and the upcoming Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which hits theaters next May. Gurira’s breakout role came as the sword-wielding Michonne on AMC’s The Walking Dead, based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman. She first appeared in the show’s third season back in 2012....

“The Android Market will allow developers to offer both free and for-purchase applications to people with Android based smartphones. Built-in support for the Android Market will be included in the Android OS,” says Android Authority. The store will be hosted by Google, which says the store will offer search, download and install facilities, and will also offer a feedback loop so users can tell developers about their experience with applications they download and use....

The tech giant said it’s adding a Digital Assets Team within its Cloud service that will “support customers’ needs in building, transacting, storing value, and deploying new products on blockchain-based platforms.” Google said it’s looking to help companies build a secure and sustainable infrastructure to scale. “As an infrastructure provider, Google Cloud views the evolution of blockchain technology and decentralized networks today as analogous to the rise of open source and the internet 10-15 years ago,” wrote Yolande Piazza, Vice President of Financial Services at Google Cloud, in the company’s blog post....

Google Maps is rolling out a trio of big updates over the coming weeks that add toll estimates and improve the navigation experience with a new map, while the iOS app is getting a series of additional integrations. Some users have seen estimated toll prices in Google Maps since last year, while Waze already offers that capability. Data is sourced from local tolling authorities, with Google factoring “cost of using a toll pass or other payment methods, what the day of the week it is, along with how much the toll is expected to cost at the specific time you’ll be crossing it....

Google this afternoon has begun rolling out a major update to the Play Music app on iOS. The update packs a handful of new features and enhancements, including a totally refreshed Material Design interface, and for the first time, an iPad optimized interface, as well. Google touts that this update offers new album and artist description pages with a new, cleaner design as well as a more immersive Now Playing experience with album artwork taking up the entire display....

The Daily Mail this week broke news that Apple plans to introduce a smaller, less well-featured iPhone nano, proposing this would appear in time for Christmas and would be made available to O2’s pay-as-you-go customers. Naturally, a chorus of derision met this report, with Apple watchers rejecting the whole notion of such a plan – ‘why would Apple want to cannibalise iPhone 3G sales?’, they asked? Perhaps because with a billion handset per year mobile industry, there’s space for many different configurations of device....

The actual keyboard itself while used across iOS 8 does not add much new functionality, but many users will likely enjoy being able to completely customize the design of their keyboard.
